Our time together is structured to support both individual growth and learning as well as group safety and cohesiveness. We will devote the first 30-minutes of each group to general check-in and Q&A, after which two or three group members will each have 25-40 minutes to present a case or explore a self-of-therapist concern. Our aim is to use the insights polyvagal theory offers (along with additional insights offered by modern relational neuroscience) to enhance our effectiveness in navigating the challenges of complex cases. In this way, polyvagal theory becomes a lens through which we can view what is happening in session, both between clients and within ourselves, in order to inform clinical choices in the service of providing the most effective EFT possible. Along the way, I will support your learning and application of both Emotionally Focused Therapy and polyvagal theory/relational neuroscience by sharing relevant information and resources as appropriate.
